1950 Rover 75 Cyclops in Pastel Blue. Unique and Rare stunning colour. Always gets lots of attention.
Square dial dashboard. Interior has been treated to a full retrim of the following:- All seats redone in the correct shade of leather and moquette. New door trims, carpets, roof lining in grey union cloth, all closely matching the original materials, at a cost of over £5000.00
The body has received some minor welding repairs which have been carried out so carefully you cannot now see any of these repairs. The car still retains its original sills, rear wings, rear wheel arches and the boot floor. So rare on a car of this age. The whole body has been stripped back to bare metal for a high quality respray in the absolute correct shade of pastel blue, and at the same time the following panels were replaced with new old stock original Rover panels:- both front wings, front centre valance, rear 1/4 valances, rear splash panels, all 4 bumper iron covers and rear centre valance was also replaced. And all of the bodywork rubbers were renewed after the repaint.
The light lenses were replaced withnew old stock lucas items. The headlamps being the correct and rare cat eye design, and atthe rear new old stock reflectors and brackets were fitted. The trafficators are still fitted, but not currently working, instead the side and tail lights, both front and rear have been converted to flash.
Some of the chrome parts have been replated, some is original and some have been replaced with new old stock. The tyres are all new Avon cross plys, all 4 hub caps have been rechromed.
Mechanically the whole of the front suspension has been stripped out, front springs and suspension arms have been powder coated, and all new bushes fitted. new outer steering links and new track rod ends were replaced. The gearbox has been removed and overhauled. The gearshift linkage has received some attention, and a new clutch fitted.
The fuel tankhas been removed and cleaned out with acid, then resealed and repainted. Some fuel pipes were replaced with new ones, and a new fuel pump was also fitted.
The rear axle was removed purely for a repaint, and new seals fitted.
We are now going to fit a pair of rear wheel bearings, both rear springs have been stripped, cleaned, greased and fiitted with new bushes. Both shock absorbers have been replaced in the past.
